After serving with the International Mission Board for three years in Bangladesh, South Asia, my family and I returned to our local church in Raleigh, Treasuring Christ Church, where I’m now the international church planting resident. My wife and I are also privileged to be the 4th-6th grade Sunday school teachers. During the week, I’m working to equip churches to discover, engage and disciple Muslim people groups now living in the Triangle through my non-profit, MAHABAT Ministries.
In January of this year, while serving on the Peoples Next Door ministry of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, the Lord called my family and me to plant a church in Raleigh for South Asian Christians. These are Christians coming out of Islam who come to Christ following the efforts of local churches who are reaching the South Asian Muslims in their communities. I’m hoping to officially launch in 2019 and until then, I’ve tentatively named the church Mahabat International Church (‘mahabat’ means unconditional love in Sanskrit) until the bride-to-be can properly name herself as she (corporately) desires.
Please pray for my family and I as we strive to walk in a manner worthy of this calling. Pray for us as we begin because we’re still team building and we’ve yet to see our first convert. Pray for us as we try to raise financial support to make the necessary transition into full-time church planting to Muslims living here in the Triangle. If your church, Sunday school class or community group would like to hear all that God’s doing in RDU’s Muslim communities, please contact Mahabat Ministries (MahabatRDU@gmail.com). Thanks for keeping in touch!
