How and where you are serving?

Originally from Canton, North Carolina, I am currently serving as director of communications for the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware in Columbia, Maryland, where I direct the convention’s communications, graphic design, writing, brand messaging, web management and public relations campaigns. I also serve as editor, graphic designer and photographer for the BaptistLIFE newsjournal (print magazine and Baptistlifeonline.org), writing and covering the national denominational and evangelical landscape as well as local church and convention coverage. In addition, I serve as president of the Baptist Communicators Association.

My husband Larry and I also serve at the Bridge Fellowship Church in Reading, Pennsylvania, where Larry is senior pastor. We have two daughters, Hannah and Lauren.

I hold a Master of Arts degree in ministry leadership from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and mass communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have written for Baptist Press and other media outlets, and am a Bible curriculum writer and conference/retreat speaker.

Prayer concerns & praises

Please pray for my husband, Larry, and daughter, Hannah, as they will travel to a closed nation this summer to share the gospel.

Ways you would encourage future students of Southeastern

I found the theological content of Southeastern’s classes to be very engaging. I loved learning the larger picture of God’s story as well as the intricate details as explained in several of my classes. I also found Dr. Akin to be extremely personable and his lectures to be very genuine and warm.
